ATC Spring Gift Book Program

Hello ATC Tutors!
Spring is upon us, and it is now time to think books for your tutees!
ATC's Spring Gift Book project will be underway beginning Tuesday, May 13 through Sunday, June 1, 2008. As in the past, each student will be given $15 worth of books chosen by his or her ATC tutor. This year, the books have been chosen from Tree Top Kids Bookstore and will be available for purchase through the Elizabeth Stone Gallery in Old Town Alexandria. The Elizabeth Stone Gallery specializes in original art by children's book illustrators, and other children's books are available for sale. ATC's Board of Directors has chosen this venue for this year's ATC Spring Tutor Book Program.
Owner Elizabeth Stone will provide a designated area in the gallery for a collection of books selected and made available from Tree Top Kids Bookstore. Tutors are invited to visit the gallery and select books with the total value not to exceed $15 per student, not per tutor, so please work out shopping details with your tutoring partner if you have one. Elizabeth is a children's librarian and will also assist you when needed. A record will be kept there of the participating tutors and your book selections for ATC children. Tutors may visit the gallery Tuesdays - Saturdays from Noon - 6:00 pm, and Sundays from Noon - 5 p.m. The Elizabeth Stone Gallery, which is closed on Mondays, is located at 1127 King Street, 2nd floor in Old Town Alexandria (King and Fayette Streets). Metered street parking is available and free parking is available on North Fayette and Cameron Streets. Gallery phone number is 703-706-0025.
